Murder accused has his bail revoked

A man accused of the murder of Edward Meenan failed to return to his bail address for almost 48 hours, a court has heard.

Derek Creswell, of no fixed abode, is charged with the murder of Mr Meenan in November 2018.

The 27-year-old had his bail revoked last month, however was later released to reside at an address in Portstewart.

Derry Magistrate’s Court heard that on July 21 Creswell signed bail at a police station and then did not return to his bail address for almost 48 hours.

There was no application for Creswell to be released on bail and he was remanded in custody to appear in court again on September 4.
