Suspended sentence for smashing window and disorderly

A man who shouted incoherently at police about planting bombs has received a suspended snetence.

Keith Adrian Ross, of Chapel Road, pleaded guilty to criminal damage, attempted criminal damage and disorderly behaviour on June 16 last.

Derry Magistrates Court heard the 40-year-old was banging on the door of a property at Bonds Hill. He also smashed a window by punching it.

Police arrived and he was abusive to the officers. He shouted about having shot someone and, then, began shouting ‘incoherently’ about planting bombs, stating ‘I am off to join the cause’.

Judge Barney McElholm suspended a six month sentence for two years and ordered Ross to pay £200.
