Cross border ferry service talks '˜positive'
Last November, the ‘Journal’ revealed The Lough Foyle Ferry Company had sold their vessel and ceased operation of the Greencastle to Magilligan service.
Talks have since taken place between the Councils “in order to bring a joint paper to the Council members on a proposed way forward”, according to a Council spokesperson.

SDLP councillor Gerry Mullan said the idea there could be no ferry service between Magilligan and Greencastle this summer “will create uncertainty about its long-term future”.
“This service is vital to the development of tourism on both sides of the border both in Donegal and the Causeway Coast. It is unthinkable that it would remain tied up this summer and for that reason I welcome commercial interest in its future,” said Colr. Mullan.
