The St. Patrick’s Day demonstration is expected to leave the Fountain at noon on Tuesday making its way via Carlisle Road and the Diamond onto the Derry Walls and to St. Augustine’s Church.

Apprentice Boys of Derry No Surrender Parent Club will proceed to Society Street via Palace Street and Bishop Street from 1.15pm.

The ‘St. Patrick’s Cross’ is traditionally carried alongside the crimson banner of the Apprentice Boys on St. Patrick’s Day.

St. Patrick’s Cross – a red saltire on a white background – dates from the 1780s when it was adopted as the emblem of British chivalric institution, the Most Illustrious Order of Saint Patrick.
